Well, yesterday, (Monday) I had to get another blood test. Yuck! I hate needles and I had a really bad experience trying to give blood one time and I dread these procedures every time. I know the needles for taking blood and donating blood are different sizes but the flash backs always come any time the needle gets close to my arm. I have been proud of myself, inspite of the anxiety. I have been a brave little girl and try not to let on too much when I sit down in the chair. The first time hurt a little, the second time didn’t hurt at all and yesterday…that lady got me good. It took forever to quit bleeding and it definitely stung. But…I’m over it.
On to the important stuff… Chris Peters called me and said my pregnancy levels were up to 6800 a little over a week ago they were only around 600. So, that is definitely good news. But…my progesterone levels have dropped. The last test had me in the 40′s and this time I was in the 20′s. It is not dangerously low yet…but I now have to take two progesterone tablets each day. One in the morning and one at night. This stuff makes me sleepy.
So…now I will have to take another blood test when I go in for my ultrasound on Tuesday, January 6th. We’ll keep you posted.

Well we told our church family today, and the congregation rejoiced. It was a fantastic outpouring of love and celebration. Our church family has been praying for and hinting at our pregnancy for several years, so today was a much awaited declaration. We used a picture similar to the one we used with our parents to announce the big news. Here it is:

Thank you to all of you who encouraged and congratulated us. We are so excited to get to share this experience with so many close friends and loved ones. We look forward to the days and weeks ahead as we celebrate God’s blessing on our family.

Well almost. As of last night we have told all our parents and immediate family. We will tell the rest of our church family tomorrow morning. Everyone was excited and/or surprised. We gave my mom a Precious Moments figurine and my Dad and Courtney’s parents each got a commemorative picture and frame to break the news. Here is what each looks like:

Well last Friday morning Court went and had a second set of blood-work run to confirm the pregnancy and make sure everything was progressing as it should. We received the results back via phone yesterday and good news, we’re still prego. We broke the news to Court’s family Sunday afternoon when we celebrated Christmas with them, and will tell my parents this week at the respective Christmas celebrations.
We are having a hard time keeping it secret until the selected time arrives, but we know that it will make for a better surprise if we hold out. We have more blood-work and our first ultrasound scheduled in the weeks to come so we will keep you updated.
Merry Christmas!

Well today Courtney got a call from our dear friend and nurse Chris Peters. “Congratulations!” she said as Courtney answered the phone. This past Friday night Court took a home pregnancy test that came back positive, and so Chris had her come into the office yesterday for blood work. We found out today that the blood confirmed what the home pregnancy test had stated…We’re Pregnant!
This is long awaited news and we are extremely excited about it. We haven’t told anyone yet, so that means if you are reading this you either stumbled upon this blog, or it is several weeks later. Still we wanted to get things kicked off today, knowing the rest of you could catch up later.
In classic web 2.0 style here is a picture of our at home test:
